Stroke Symptoms can differ from person to person and from case to case. Stroke symptoms are also different depending on the amount or type of stroke that has taken place. If a person has a mild stroke, they may not experience any of the symptoms at all. The symptoms will normally include a stiff neck, blurred vision, increased sensitivity to light and sound, irritability, loss of balance, and problems with speaking or swallowing. More severe strokes can cause the following symptoms: difficulty breathing, vomiting, swelling in the legs or feet, dizziness, sweating, ringing in the ears, ringing in the head, and decreased sense of time.
Stroke symptoms can be prevented by taking care of your body. Stroke symptoms can also be lowered through diet and exercise. Stroke symptoms can also be raised if you are a woman. Women have a higher risk of having a stroke due to a hormonal imbalance. Men have a higher stroke risk due to a gene that causes the buildup of fat in the arteries.
There are some common signs and symptoms associated with stroke, but there are some other signs as well. The numbness, tingling or weakness should be considered if it is a symptom of stroke. Loss of consciousness, trouble speaking or swallowing, dizziness, sweating, and nausea are also signs. Anyone who experiences any of these symptoms should get to a hospital right away.
Stroke Symptoms can be raised by a high blood pressure. Any one who has been diagnosed with high blood pressure should see their doctor immediately for treatment. Stroke Symptoms can also be caused by heart attack, coronary artery disease, or a heart valve that is not opening properly. Stroke Symptoms should never be ignored, and anyone experiencing these signs should get to a hospital immediately.
Another sign of ischemic stroke occurs when the brain is deprived of oxygen. This deprivation affects the brain’s function in a variety of ways. Some symptoms include lack of consciousness, difficulty speaking or swallowing, or a change in behavior. Anyone who experiences any of these symptoms should get to a hospital for treatment.
Symptoms of hemorrhagic strokes include a headache, feeling fatigued, fast weight loss, vomiting, stomach pain, and blurred vision. Stroke Symptoms of tardive dyskinesia can include trembling, holding of the arms or legs, or the inability to control movement of the arms and legs. If left untreated, tardive dyskinesia can progress to seizures and heart failure. Symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder include flashbacks, nightmares, flashbacks of incidents from the past, nightmares that occur while awake. Post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms can be mistaken for symptoms of dementia, especially when the victim relates the flashbacks as memories of abuse. Treatment for PTSD should be sought immediately if the victim experiences any of these symptoms.
If none of the above common signs of stroke appear in an individual then he should seek medical help. Symptoms of DVT include numbness, which may be in one or both limbs, trouble walking, blurry vision, clumsiness, sweating, loud noises in the chest, shortness of breath, and dizziness. Other symptoms of DVT include swelling of the legs, thighs, or toes, painful urination, increased sensitivity to physical touch, decreased urine output, headaches, irritability, and loss of memory, thinking, and reasoning ability. Any of these symptoms should be reported to the physician. A physical examination should be done along with blood work, and the physician should perform scalp tests for abnormalities.
Symptoms of entropion include arm weakness, blurry vision, poor balance, speech difficulty, and decreased sweating. Entropion of the forearm results in palmar and plantar fasciitis. If these symptoms are present along with any one of the other symptoms of stroke then treatment by physical therapy should be started. If however, these symptoms do not exist then treatment by surgery is indicated.
